The problem
Kitchen and bath remodels live or die on the electrical. Get the can layout wrong and the island has shadows. Get the GFCI wrong and the inspector fails you twice. Get the dedicated circuits wrong and the dishwasher trips every cycle.
Code requires GFCI protection on every counter outlet, dedicated circuits for dishwasher and disposal, AFCI on the bedroom-adjacent circuits, vent fan sized to the bath square footage, and recessed lighting that doesn't fight the cabinetry. We work alongside your GC, your designer, or directly with you to scope the entire electrical layout before drywall closes up.
“We don’t hand off jobs to strangers. Every breaker, every outlet, every permit — that’s us.”
Documented work
Recent kitchen & bath.

Finished kitchen — pendants over island, undercabinet on dedicated circuit.
Globe pendant statement piece + dimmer-compatible recessed.
Vanity lighting with LED mirror — GFCI on every counter receptacle.
Walk-in shower lighting + vent fan sized to the square footage.
Why Northern
What you’re actually paying for.
GC + designer-tested
Worked alongside dozens of local GCs and designers. Know the lingo, hit the milestones, don't slow the project.
Code-current
GFCI, AFCI, and tamper-resistant outlet requirements shift every code cycle. We install to current code — no fail-and-fix loops.
Smart-switch ready
Pull neutrals to every switch box as standard. If you want Lutron Caseta or Leviton Decora Smart now or later, the wiring is already there.
Lighting design input
Cans too close to the cabinets, pendants too low, no separation between general and task lighting — common mistakes. We'll flag them before drywall.
Implementation
What the day looks like.
We do rough-in before drywall and finish after paint, on the same permit. Pendant heights, can spacing, switch leg layouts — all walked with you before the wire goes in. If you want smart switches (Lutron Caseta, Leviton Decora Smart) we'll spec and install the dimmer-compatible cans.
If your panel can't carry the new kitchen load, we'll quote a service upgrade in the same scope.
Frequently asked
The questions that come up before booking.
Can you work with my GC?
Yes — and it's what we prefer. Coordinated milestones, shared schedule, single inspector visit. We've worked with local GCs across MA, NH, ME, and VT.
What if I'm doing the remodel myself?
Also fine. We handle the electrical scope, you handle the rest. We sequence with your drywaller and tile guy directly.
Will an induction range need new wiring?
Usually yes — induction draws 40-50A on a 240V circuit. Existing 240V range circuits may or may not have headroom; we check and quote upgrades alongside the install.
Are heated bathroom floors possible?
Yes. Most heated-floor systems pull a 15A or 20A 240V dedicated circuit. Wired at rough-in alongside the regular bath load.
How long is electrical rough-in?
Typical kitchen rough-in runs 2-3 days. Bath rough-in is 1-2 days. Trim phase after paint is another 1-2 days.
